Something old into something new

A few weeks ago my hand painted large baskets were apart of a wonderful birthday party dessert table display. So that got me thinking - why not make them for that!
Introducing the treat pop tray!

Our hand painted tray with a styrofoam insert for your treat pops - from cake, pie, and push pops. The insert can be taken out so you can still use the tray for other purposes too.
And don't forget I can paint them in any color.
See buttercupmarketplace. etsy.com for more information.

Dessert Table

Look how cute!!!

Isn't this the prettiest dessert table? Dessert tables have become quite popular in the last few years. From weddings or birthday parties - it's a great way to satisfy a sweet tooth and make a beautiful focal point for a room.
The photo above was for a little girl named Ella 1st birthday party. You can read more about the wonderful party here: http://www.itwontbelikethisforlong.com/2011/09/ellas-first-birthday-party-part-1.html

And look at the custom made pink and blue baskets in the background. Yup those would be from Buttercup Marketplace!
We can custom match any of our wooden items (baskets, boxes, trays) to match any color. Either use our color chart

or send us a swatch of fabric and we can color match it!

Buttercup Marketplace has had two products featured in the last two days!!!
One is our flower girl basket for all those Halloween weddings!! I love theme weddings and a Halloween one would be the best! This basket would also make a great trick or treat basket for Halloween.

Custom orders and the week ahead

I love creating custom orders - when a customer has a vision of a basket and I can create it for them. My latest order were for pewter painted flower girl baskets with ivory ribbon and spring green initials. Very modern. Love it!

The photos don't do them justice!!!

Stat tuned this week. We will be featured on a blog from Emmaline Bride and we have new products launching too.

Have a great week!

Statement flowers

I love to wear flowers.
I wear them almost every day (some days just aren't flower days). I have all different kinds to match all my clothes.
One that I don't have was from a company called Emersomemade.
They make - well made - beautiful linen statement flowers. A statement flower is huge beautiful bloom any where from 5-9 inches in diameter. But they have since discontinued them to focus more on their clothing line. I'm very sad about it since I never purchased one. They were kind if pricey - any where from $50 to up to $90 for the large ones.
Anyway I took this as a sign to start my own line of these kind of beautiful beauties. It's just in the early stages but I like how they are coming out. Let me know what you think.

On to make some more!!

Hurricane Irene

So it's Sunday and we are just waiting out the rest of what was Hurricane Irene. I'm so glad it's over. I overall do ok with bad weather but we kind of live in a forrest. Trees with wind don't mix well. But we survived and had power too. So at least I could make mini cheesecakes - you can check that out on my other blog Snackgri-la. Very yummy.

And I got to hang out with my babies!!

Mommy and Elphie

I'm going to work on some new felt ring designs today- daisies and sunflowers. Ooo... I feel a giveaway coming. Stay tuned!!

i am sooooo excited to be relaunching my tiffany blue baskets and ring bearer boxes with this wonderful new shade of the REAL Tiffany Blue color paint. not that the old shade was bad or anything - but this one is PERFECT!!! i'm already painting any new orders in this shade - i just haven't been able to take new photos to put up on my shop. my camera has decided to take a mini vacation - aka not working right!!
but stay tuned - hopefully by the end of the week they will be up. plus other new items are launching too - daisies, sunflowers and some fall color felt rings and new hand painted serving trays to match my card and flower girl basket and ring bearer boxes.

so i went to the dump today...

thrilling, i know. but i was smiling from ear to ear!!

it's very cathartic- going to the dump and throwing stuff that use to be important away in to a great big metal contraption.
but for me it's also part of my plan of starting over. for the past, well too many years (more than i'd like to admit) i've had a business. it's had many different names, been different versions but it made me very happy. it actually saved me at one point too - after my parents passed away. it kept me busy and focused.
but late last year- that all changed. a door here and there closed. it almost felt like my parents had died all over again. alright that's a bit dramatic i suppose - but it was very hard.
but i've cried my tears and now as i wipe my eyes, hmm.. there is that open window as they say and on the other side is buttercup marketplace and my new beginning. so off to the dumpster i go. :)

i'm buttercup (butterlump to some of my husbands friends :/) aka karen.
i hope you'll join me in my new endeavor.
i'll be writing about anything and everything - from my new shop on etsy - buttercup marketplace, my family- hubby and puppies and anything else that enters my brain -  from cooking, fashion to who knows what.

thanks for stopping by.
